I went with my 11-year old son, although I have enjoyed the other movies in the series, too. While there were a few moments that were too much for my suspension of disbelief, it is overall a really good movie. Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber are so good together, and (of course) the effects are amazing. There's a twist or two you won't see coming, too.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

My husband and I took our sons because they wanted to go, but we both ended up enjoying it as well. It is definitely smarter than the average superhero movie, which I was hoping for since Robert Downey, Jr. and Terrance Howard are such smart actors. I can usually take or leave Gwenyth Paltrow, and this film hasn't changed my mind about that, but Jeff Bridges pleasantly surprised me. As a mom, I wish these movies didn't have to be so violent, but I understood the point of it more in this case, with the movie's condemnation of the military industrial complex and all. The supporting characters do a good job, and there is definitely a set up for a sequel, so I'm sure we'll all be back at the movieplex in 2010 or so for the next round.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Best Apatow film yet!

I cannot begin to rave enough about this movie. It has everything you and your date could want...and certainly everything you wish every Apatow film had in abundance. Yes, it's raunchy like "Superbad," and heartwarming like "40-Year Old V*rgin," and flat out goofy in spots like "Kn*cked Up". Unlike all of those other movies, though, this one is clunker- and boring moment-free. Jason Segel, who also wrote the story, is brilliant as Peter, and if this movie doesn't make Mila Kunis the star she deserves to be, then I don't know what can. Kristen Bell is complex playing the shallow, selfish title character, but for me the real discovery was Russell Brand, whose honest, h*rny man-child works on many different levels. You want to hate him, just like Peter wants to, but it's impossible! He knows who he is, and he doesn't care that everyone else knows it, too. I loved him.
The supporting cast is hilarious, with Paul Rudd as a burned out aging surfer dude with a really bad memory, and Jack McBrayer (from 30 Rock) and Maria Thayer will shock and amaze you as a honeymooning couple trying to find their groove. Oh, and I can't rave enough about the final, huge musical number. I'll never look at puppets the same way again!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
