I read all 3 books and loved them. I thought the movie did a good job of telling the story even though many characters had to be left out. I would have liked to see more development of the relationship between Katniss and Peta as it seemed too superficial throughout the movie.
Main complaint: Camera movement even made me nauseous in the beginning. Hope to see it toned down for the second movie, which I hope they are making.

We decided that the best way to see this movie was in 3D and it was definitely the right decision. This movie will set the standard for fantasy/sci-fi movies for the future. The characters were great, the graphics were outstanding, the feeling of reality was unsurpassed by anything we have seen in the past. We are planning on seeing it again soon. Creature concepts were wonderful. Kudos to the imagination of the creators and visual effects crews for bringing such complex ideas to the screen in such a believable way. Don't miss this experience. It won't be the same on the regular screen.
