Don't bother...

Generally speaking, I look for movies that are off the beaten path, offering something I haven't already seen in a movie 20 times.
This movie tries to deliver that, but fails to be interesting. It does manage to be disturbing at times. This wouldn't be so bad, if I was at all interested in the plot of the movie, or if the characters weren't behaving in ways that seem totally false. Oh, and there is this "blindness" effect that is used repeatedly, whereby the majority (or all) of the screen goes bright white. It was cute maybe the first time, after that it was just irritating.
This is no "Constant Gardener" - don't be fooled.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Excellent movie. Yes, there are long silences. Yes, the pacing is slow. Yes, the plot is secondary. YES, the acting is outstanding. YES the characters ring true in their flaws and their strengths.
All of these things have been said before, and are all accurate.
The bottom line, is that if you want to see a "film", then you will probably be satisfied with this movie. However, if you want to see a Hollywood "movie" then you will definately be dissapointed. If you consider "Armageddon" a 5 star movie, then I garauntee you - you will hate this film. So don't punish yourself unnecessarily.
---As a note, I did not find this movie "anti-christian" in any way. It's true that one of the characters preys on the faith of others. I found this to be a facet of that character's general immorality rather than a commentary on Christianity as a religion.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

If you know what you're getting into, then you will not be dissappointed.
The beginning is indeed very slow. I was glad for this though, as it gave me a few minutes to get used to the handheld camera jumping around before the real "meat" of the movie arrived.
The entire movie is filmed by an individual who is living the monster attack. Understand going into this movie that this is the case, and the only questions for which you will have direct answers, are those questions that this individual can answer, himself. This take allows the movie to avoid most of the pitfalls of a monster movie. Questions like: 'What is it? Where did it come from? How do we stop it?' These are questions that most monster movies try to answer, and subsequently leaves at least 1/2 the viewers thinking about how stupid the plot is.
This is a survival film. The acting is acceptable. The motives of the characters are clear, and make sense - much more than can be said for a lot of similar movies. The effects are good. Like I said first thing, know what you're getting into and you'll enjoy it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

To me, this movie exemplifies everything that is wrong with Hollywood filmmaking. Special effects in this movie are good, but if you expect more for your $9 than that, you should pass on this movie.
There is virtually no character developement (I was never given a reason to care about any of them). There is no substance to the plot. It is thin, predictable, and worst of all - boring. The action sequences are too few and lack any tension or suspense.
Some movies are written by someone who is passionate about the story. Other movies are written by someone who thinks he knows what will make a buck. This movie was obviously the latter.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
