Although this wasn't my choice to see, I found it to be more interesting than I thought I would, but not because of the love story between John and Savannah. The character of John's dad is what gave the movie substance, and added another dimension to the decisions made by the other characters - one part of this was disappointing to me, I wonder if it was the same in the book?
Character portrayals were excellent - forgot I was watching actors! Story-line was realistic, totally believable, and very thought-provoking. Would have like to have seen the real Nathaniel Ayers at the conclusion of the movie. Plan on finding programs I can contribute to to aid the homeless.
