Casting was great. Couldn't have asked for better. Charactization was great too. Dr. McCoy
s may have been my favorite. The alternate time thing really frees this film from any baggage to go boldly on in any direction it wants. And the new romance was intriging. They could have fun with that. LOVED this one. Great Job Abrams!

Knowing "Do you or don't you"

Is there meaning in the way things happen or is it all just random accidents? Nicolas Cage's caractor near the beginning say "s--t just happens." Then we come to the question, is knowing a good thing or is it better to go about life in ignorance of the future? Ok, Knowing is somewhat hokee in places. disturbing in others. The religious element wasn't over done, as some have said. I thought it was pretty understated. The end, ok that I should have seen coming. but wasn't expecting. Go see the movie. Its good entertainment. Small children, no, but my 11 and 16 year olds liked it. The world ends, yes, but everyone doesn't die. Think on the last scene. There is more than one thing that big tree at the end represents.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Watchmen, lousy

I took my kids to this one and really wished I hadn't with in half an hour. I was expecting somthing on the lines of the x-men and Spiderman. Those were good movies. This one wasn't. It was dark, bad, no plot, and had enough sex, nudity and language for an x rating. the blood gushed, the special effects over played the bone crunching and gore. I was disgusted. The kids didn't like it either. We walked out after an hour of hoping it would get better. My tickets were refunded without a quibble. The manager agreed with me about this one not being for families. When X men wolverine comes out I'm sure it will be much better. I should have waited for it rather than waste my time on this one.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
