I am not a Will Ferrel fan, but he was okay in this one. The story here was just lame, predictable. I really hated the green alien men with the really fake rubber suits.
There are two things that really bothered me about this movie. One is that they don't get really good shots of most of the art and architecture. That is what the book is all about. A few more shots or longer ones of the churches and sculptures would have been nice. Also, I don't mind the changes from the book, except that they removed the two main characters from any real harm or danger. In the book the woman is kidnapped by the assassin, Langdon winds up in the hospital. In the movie they aren't in any real danger and it lessens the drama and tension in the movie.
2 2/1 stars. Amy Adams is the best thing about this film. She is fresh, inventive and rather cute. Kids will like it because the visuals are great. The story is just very predictable and there are just too many characters. Worst moment--the Jonas Brothers as flying marble cherubs!
I'm not a huge Star Trek fan, but I like JJ Abrams. This was fantastic! Enough old-school ST to still be a Trek movie, but they really filled in the back story and made something fresh.
