Nothing mind-blowing here. A pretty straight, and pretty small story about Eli (Denzel), a man who travels west carrying the last copy of the Bible with him.
He comes across a town built by Carnegy (Gary Oldman). He's not really a good guy, and at the same time has done SOME good things for the people there. That's part of the problem with the film - there's not really a bad guy. At least not one that you can hate. He finds out about the Bible and wants to get his hands on it.
That's about the extent of the plot.
There is some good action, and some good visuals - but overall the don't make up for the lack of story, plot and character.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
