skip the higher-priced 3D tickets and save your money - this feature was under-utilized.

this is not a faithful retelling of the original Alice, but a hybrid inspired by "Looking Glass Wars" and "Redd." Depp channels a Chaplinesque "little tramp" with a pitch-perfect balance of menacing undertones, manic grace notes and tenderness. Helena Bonham Carter deftly avoids caricature with incredible emotional range.
