Franco was ok. Like another person said, he didn't have much to work with.
Lithgow, however, played his character wonderfully.
But really this movie was about the apes, so in that sense, the movie was ok.
The movie had it's funny moments and more suspenseful moments. You may like it, you might not. Just check it out.

The collaboration between Burton and Disney was C+ at best. They are both completely different: Disney has always been happy fun-loving family type movies, whereas Burton has always been more on the dark side, so I can see why Burton had to make his vision more Disney-friendly. If you go into the movie thinking that it's going to be more Disney with a splash of Burton then you'll enjoy the movie. The plot was very linear, I imagine to keep the kids interested, but it was beautifully done. Depp and all the other characters played fantastic roles. It was a good time, but don't expect too much. The hype was definitely not worth it, but it was still passable. Oh, and the glasses were definitely ill-fitting. Good movie though!
