As an adult I enjoyed the movie, but I would not recommend it for young children. Some of the scenes were pretty scary, and a couple involving an eyeball were pretty gross.
There are some great performances, and it's worth going for those and the visuals. It's a clever idea for a story, but I think they should have given it a different title like Return to Wonderland.
