The Descendants doesn't live up to its advertising displays. While there are some humorous lines, it is basically a sad and melodramatic movie whose main character behaves in uninspiring ways. Matt (George Clooney) is a man who asks his children and daughter's friend for advice. He runs to take his daughter out of her boarding school in the middle of the night. He runs after his wife's lover. True - he is under stress - but his actions are overly compulsive; he is childish and immature. Also, there are too many issues in the movie that beg for our sympathy - wife in coma, daughter's decadence, her boyfriend on "weed," his father recently deceased... The list goes on. I do not agree with the critics' assessment of this movie, and I don't recommend it.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Crazy Heart succeeds at making the viewer feel what it is to have a lifestyle similar to those stars whose life takes them on the road - experiencing the admiration of fans, on the one hand, and the loneliness of constant movement with no permanent roots, on the other.
After having seen and loved Borat, we were expecting to be equally awed by Bruno. However, Bruno is not at all as funny or clever as Cohen's previous film. Bruno is offensive, poorly edited, crass, and bordering on pornographic. While there are some laughs, most of the movie relies on immature humor, humiliation, full frontal nudity, and the same "jokes" over and over again. I'm surprised at Sacha Baron Cohen. He's too smart to have thought that Bruno would be a success. Save your money. Don't see this one.
