Trek is fun again!

Star Trek has been released from what had become a decidedly stale franchise! The new movie honors the solid storytelling of Roddneberry's Trek universe at every level while not being afraid to take plot twists and emotional turns that surprise us all. But, I won't give anything away here.
The movie hits all the emotional high points of a good story--tear jerking, laughter, victory and tragedy. Characters relate in ways that we all connect with and the action sequences are breathtaking. There are white-knuckle moments that made me cover my eyes.
For old guard Trekkies and newbies alike, this is a great film which provides what it promises--good solid entertainment!
