it is a good movie, but best movie of the year. In my opinion no, I think Gran Torino was better. Slumdog was pretty predictable boy meets girl , boy loses girl ,boy gets girl back ;boy loses girl and gets her back again. The acting was believable and heart warming, but it did nor give me pause to think. Where as GranTorino made people think about personal relations and especially the ending about getting beyond self interest
The first half hour of the movie gives the viewer a quick history of his characters experience and back ground both professionally and on the home front. With some later tie ins. All of his caution is ignored and the movie's action is the result. I was able to accept the action envolved until the chase scene with the boat. Not one accident even though traffic at night maybe be less, suspenion of belief may help. His characters quiet fury is well portrayed and most fathers will be able to identify with his desperation. a movie not to be missed
Having grown up with Mr Eastwood from Roudy Yeats to Dirty Harry to the Unforgiven. This movie is one of his best and from what I have read maybe his last movie as a character.. If you like enlightenment movies then his change in character is for you. The supporting cast all do excellent work especially Bee Vang. The ending was totally unexpected, but if you go back there are clues as to what he is planning. I would think that this is one of those few movies that will make everyone list as a must see.
I think that the timing and presentation were very good. Mr Carrey had his act together and his coactors werealso effective. If your like this type of semi-serious movie then this is the one for you. A message about leaving yourself open to life and new experiences.
I would have to agree the original movie was better. I have read that Mr Reeves generally lacks emoitional connections with his audience except maybe, Matrix. However in this movie, I think that would be one of the characters traits since he was just born. Kathy Bates and Connelly I think did a good job with their interperations of their characters. The pharse we can change was over worked. The ending I sorry was very disapointing. I think that the ending needed as in the original a warning about one of our least redeemable characteristics
Indiana has a different plot generally he has been searching for an object onl;y to become envolved with another plot line. Harrison look initially tired, but his later screen prescence was more appealing. The plot has tie ins from previous films and the audience could appreciate this. I thought the action sequences and interplay between the characters was good. The use of a comb and knife gave the audience some time to recover from all of the actions scenes. However, the ending was too out of the world
the character development of course focus on Tina's character and her development of relations with the other characters. Trying to have it all and how she realizes her desires. The plot develops at a good pace and we met each person in their personal enviroment. There are various scenes that are very clever and I do not remember seeing this plot line develop to this extent. The inplay among the actors isbelieveable for the greater part. Steve Martin is able to almost make his character believable and he does try to leave us with a few incites about business.
