Much Better Than Expected

Adam Sandler has finally grown up from his Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy moronic characters. His character in Just Go With It shows more wit, while the silliy comedy surrounds him as opposed to him being the clown directly. The story had some nice surprising twists (Nicole Kidman) and we actually laughed out loud through much of the film. My wife went along because I wanted to see it, but she came out happily entertained. It's worth the money.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This ensemble of goofy ex-spies was entertaining enough! The plot was so-so, and some of the action scenes were just ridiculous. But we were never bored and got some laughs out of it. Just some fun, mindless entertainment with a little twist at the end.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A nice independent film with a sort of sad story, but a feel-good ending. The previews led us to think it might be more of a subtle comedy, and it began that way. Later it became clear it would have just an occasional humorous moment. Still, when the story finally unfolds, you will understand why everything was happening the way it was. Duvall, Murray, Spacek and Lucas Black are all superb in their roles. Worth seeing if you like independents.

Okay if nothing better to see.

My wife didn't like it, I thought it was okay. She felt that this was just another Will Ferrell-centric movie, and she doesn't like his humor. I found a more equal character balance between Ferrell and Wahlberg. It had its laugh-out-loud moments, but a shorter film would have made those moments tighter and, therefore, made a more funny movie. It's better than anything Ferrrell has done since Talladega Nights, but his act is just wearing thin.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

As what typically happens with trilogies, the third installment is always better than the second, while coming up a little short of the first. Still, Toy Story 3 takes us on a new life adventure that is more packed with emotion and a touch of darkness we haven't seen before. Some moments of drama are quite intense, yet no child in our audience was upset by them. However, the ending will get you if you have any heart! Funny, engaging, thoughtful and loving.

Wonderful blend of action, comedy and light romance. Tom Cruise takes his "Mission: Impossible" spy to a comedic level without being silly. Cameron Diaz plays the confused "wrong place, wrong time" character, never sure who to believe with great believability. The so-called professional movie critics have said there is no story line. WRONG! It's a fun joy ride that gave us excitement and laughs.

A fun-time escapist adventure. If you're looking for action with comedy laced in in just the right places, this is it. I've read the so-called "professional critics", and they just don't get it. This isn't one of their artsy-fartsy flicks. Movies are for ENTERTAINMENT, and that's what The A-Team does, entertains. Go and enjoy as we did!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Some good laughs

The pratfalls and physical comedy of Kevin James are what carries this movie. It has all the earmarks of a Happy Madison Productions movie (Adam Sandler). James' Paul Blart is a loveable loser who can't get a break, gets no respect and cxan't find his way around women. The scenes with his daughter are touching. But character development for the girl he pines for is missing, and in the end is reduced to some oddball expressions. Don't know if it was scripting or poor acting. James did alright in his first shot as a lead comedy actor. But the laughs were a a little too far apart. See it, but be sure to pay the matinee price.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Worth It!

"Defiance" is just that: A large group of Jewish refugees defying the odds, the Nazis and their own anti-Semitic Russian brethren. The eventual feud between the two brothers, Daniel Craig and Liv Schreiber, is both regretable and understandable. They want what's best for their people, but by different means.
It's not far-fetched to believe they could survive for two years in the forest: how many centuries did Native American Indians do it?
Character development was poor in the beginning, but it kicked in later. In the end, you are left wondering if you were in those refugees' place, could you do what they did to survive? Well worth seeing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Iron Man

I rank Iron Man second only behind the first Spiderman for the Marvel comics franchises. Robert Downey, Jr. is excellent as Tony Stark, as was Toby McQuire/Spiderman. The blend of action, suspense and comedy is perfect. The only flaw was the final battle betwen good and evil, a little weak and too comic-bookish. However, be sure to stay through the closing credits for the final scene!
