The movie really is about hope and one family having the love and compassion to help another in need when it is not popular or easy to do so, and despite doubts. Cross-racial relations, football and ultimate success make it even more interesting.
This a great movie . . . well directed and acted. The history lesson is just fantastic, placing these events in the context of the civil rights movement and this country's horrific history of lynchings. This movie should be receiving Oscar and Golden Globe nominations! The movie grabs your attention and does not let go. You want to know even more about the characters. The camera work is also great in its ability to communicate the unique perspective of the characters.
