The movie is a good super hero story bringing good special effects and the argument to "err" is human. The human element is what keeps the story moving because it is the human mind and imagination that makes Green Lantern. The extra terrestrial super beings become equal to humans when fear is experienced as a weapon of defense.
For those who grew up reading this super hero story, pick up one or two comics to catch up; it will help you appreciate the movie.
Fascinating movie with a little vintage Hollywood film making, like "The Bible and The 10 Commandments" with a twist of "Earthquake."
Woody Harrelson plays a good part symbolizing Charlton Heston as he warns humanity to repent. The biblical tale of Noah's Arc with a pair of every living species resembled as 3 gigantic ships sail to unknown territory. The special effects along with the acting are exciting and surreal to imagine how a handful of people can survive nature's wrath. The 1,500 feet tidal waves and the 10+ magnitude earthquakes that reshape the surface of the earth are the pivotal points of the movie.
The 2 hours and 38 minutes will seem like 30 minutes of pure adrenaline for everyone.
Excellent story of power, politics, and social responsibility with a hero twist. Stark Industries has all the power by monopolizing the "high tech" weapons market including the bomb that almost killed "Tony Stark." The story evolves into a struggle for power of who will be the directing the destiny of weapon maker. At the end, the social responsibility stems out of the main character, Iron Man, in helping the world by the idea of "no more guns." Bottom line the movie is entertaining breaks away from the typical hero who gets the "lady" and has excitement without stop. Recommend for all in the family but just preempt on the violence and one minor love scene. Robert Downey, Jr and Jeff Bridges great performance. Spiderman, Iron Man is here.
