I took my 8 year old and his best friend (who is 9) to this Sunday afternoon. We have a Home Theater and I enjoy action and technology movies. They did a GREAT job at anthropomorphism with the Fighting Robots. Reminded me of a modern version of Johnny 5 which really got the adults into believing that the robots had human feelings.
My 12 year old boy loved it but this 45 year agree w/others that character development was pretty much absent, no set up of characters & little character development throughout the movie. The logic for the creatures was obvious from the start. At least the development of good vs. evil (of drugs) came out in the end with a solid message for the 12 year old. Obvious sequel on the way with a new set of bad guys before Max can get to the CEO (who only played a Cameo part in this movie). It also gives us a follow up to learn the impact and/or effects of Max's desperate actions in the latest stages of the film. Worth the $5 weekday ticket but not $12 like many theaters now charge.
