Less Action than expected

It was actually a little slow for what I was expecting, which was good considering we were sitting in the 3rd row of a packed theater. Johnny Depp was terrific, but I think the script could have used a little more work.

Great animated movie for adults too

Great film, great story, and I was really impressed with the 3D version. Carl can teach us some good life lessons in this movie too! And, I wish I had Dug's collar for our dog...

Good adaptation of the book

With the limited budget of this movie (compared to most) they did a good job of putting together a 2 hr movie out of a 500+ page book. I liked the choices they made with adapting the script from the book, I only wish they'd had more time/money to fill in some of the story for the people who didn't read the book. Also a few of the special effects of course would have looked better with some more $$ :) But I really liked the characters and all in all I was not disappointed.

A Must-See

As you watch, you forget that there is really no dialogue for a long time in the movie, but there is emotion - no words needed!!!
And, great homages to 2001 :)
