Great!!

Just an excellent movie - if you like action-galore. It was simply a thrill-ride from start to finish. Cruise has never looked more handsome, the eye-candy gal (Paula Patton) is so achingly beautiful that I never wanted the camera to leave her, and (surprise) a terrific action-movie actress. Also got a real kick out of Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner. Pegg was obviously in there for the comic relief, but Renner was also surprisingly funny. Quickest 2 hours I've been part of since my high school reunion.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Funny - glad I saw it

Sure - there are a couple of over the top/totally unrealistic parts, but overall, what a blast! Aniston is so cute, it hurts. And the the "three amigos" are super, with a huge supporting cast of heavyweight, cameo-appearing actors.
One of my favorite movies of the year!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Passable

All the critics that either never saw the original, or have lousy memories have been raving about this picture, and stating what an improvement it is over the original. I don't understand why. There's a reason the original is in perpetual re-runs on TV, it's a wonderful movie. The remake is passable, but simply doesn't compare. Not one single actor rises to the performance levels of the original - well, other than Matt Damon (but let's face it, he's being compared to Glen Campbell, a wonderful singer).
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Surprisingly Disappointing

Settled in to be "scared" and wowed by the pairing of Scorsese and DiCaprio...and was woefully disappointed. Virtually nothing scary - the promos were sooo misleading. And, honestly, kept thinking "THIS is a Scorsese movie?" But what I thought of mostly was - "this movie is awful!" Will say this: the last 15-20 minutes made suffering through the whole boring movie - almost - tolerable.
Don't waste your time.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
