This was a good film, and especially true to Charles Dickens's original story.

A Movie based on a Toy

What do you expect? The toy, and the crummy 70s cartoon show don't provide much latitude for story or character development. Within those limits, Joe was passably good. My only objection is that the action was in my face constantly, non-stop. And, I thought the masked freak in Hellboy was far more cool than Cobra - is he Asian? Caucasian?
Yes, I recommend this movie.
