I read the book, The Help in a week and was unable to put it down. I loved it. So when I went to see the movie last night I had high expectations. I wasn't disappointed.
It stays very true to the book in most parts. However, they did compress some events and take out a few things that I considered important to the story. However, these things were somewhat implied or could still have been the case just not told in the movie.
It makes you laugh, made me cry, and made me mad just like the book.
It's set to be a classic film and it should win some awards during the award season next year.
GO SEE THE HELP!!! Whether you've read the book or not, you'll love it!
This movie is anything but boring. The first 30 minutes is all about exposition but after that it gets really good and only gets better. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and asking questions to yourself the whole time. You wade through it much like a dream confused at times but in the end most of it makes sense.
The ending is good - but leaves you with more questions is all I can say. Sequel anyone?
I didn't think I would like it as much as I did but it really was a great experience.
OK so looking at Bradley Cooper is always a treat for me and I love Sandra Bullock but this was a really weak film. It was just mediocre. I'm not sure it was the actors as much as the storyline and the script. There's only so much one can do with it.
Sandra Bullock did a really good job playing an awkward Mary but I mean she couldn't really save this film.
It has a few laughs and it might be worth renting on DVD or something but don't botehr spending 10 bucks on it.
Tyler Perry movies are always so full of heart and laughter. This movie brings on the tears as well. He always has a message and it's always an empowering one.
The only thing I didn't like were all the LONGGG musical numbers - I mean I enjoyed them but some of them were too long like the Pastor singing and all that. Mary J. Blige and Gladys Knight were great.
This movie was totally worth the time and money. I LOVED it. It made it me laugh and cry and was sooo wonderful. I don't know how else to put it. LOVE IT!
OK. So just looking at Ryan Reynolds' hot body is reason enough but Sandra Bullock and he are both really good in this. Of course, no one is as good as Bette White - she's a pro of course and she delivers in this film.
It's funny, touching, and makes you care about the characters.
This movie was actually intriguing for most of the film. Then, then ending comes abruptly with very little to no explanation. It's like the writer(s) got tired of writing and just wanted to finish so they gave it a weak ending.
Really not good. Not scary either, more strange than scary.
