Having read each of the books at least five times (many 10+), I have to say that this one was the closest representation of the books. Yes, things were missing, and I wanted the big battle at the end, but much of the book was intact, and little "artistic license" was added in. I was very pleased and for the first time didn't spend the whole movie saying, "That isn't how it is supposed to be."
Yes, I recommend this movie.
