The biggest thing I walk away from this one with is a real look at humans disconnected from one another. Maybe its just me but I feel we are at a similar stage right now. And we dont need robots to do it. Disturbing,,,,Depressing.
Christoph Waltz and Melanie Laurent were absolutely wonderful. I couldnt figure out what it was about them that I liked so much. Now I discover that they are both foreign actors hence I am not sick to death of them. Then in comes Brad Pitt to ruin it all in what has to be his dumbest performance yet. Not NEARLY as humorous or witty as it should have been. I think this film shows Tarantino blunt and out of shape. There are some scenes and dialogue that are very mesmerizing but ONLY due to the incredible performances by the aforementioned people. As far as everyone else in it along with the silly re-imagining of an alternate history...inglorious and LAME!!
The main point of this one is to show how ugly and pathetic the human species is. By throwing aliens into the mix it just ramps up the volume and complexity of the mess. I must say the most amusing feature of it is the alien weaponry and its ability to splatter a human body like a bug on a windshield. This is NOT a film for young children to see. It is quite grotesque and there is a blatant and completely unnecessary over-use of the F-bomb.
IF you have seen generation kill on HBO then youve seen all this before. This movie is good but nothing new. I am glad I saw it but dont think I would sit through it again.
For anyone who wants to see the BEST Jack Black performance. Watch the Jackyl. Bruce Willis lights Blacks' fat carcass up with a high powered machine gun. BRAVO!!
This movie is huge. Its a little slow and long winded in a few places and some of the dialog is a little worn-out. Whatever you expect of this movie you will get it and then some. Its exactly like the first and continues on. It is worth the ticket price and worth 3 hours sleep lost on a work night.
The whole mischief in Vegas thing is really tired for me. There are a few chuckles here and there but nothing to write home about. This one is worth seeing if you have nothing better to do.
It seems that the trend of late is to take old familiar ideas and names..throw them together in a mindless sloppy heap...add some special effects and call it a movie. Wolverine sucked. Star trek sucked THIS SUCKS!!! I am not impressed. This film was a waste of time and money....including mine.
Older fans of the original series and movies wont dig this one too much. There are serious facts that dont line up. The characters are quickly introduced and thrown together in a VERY sloppy manner along with a story that is predictable and anticlimatic. The time travel aspect and the presence of "old Spock" is confusing and TOTALLY unnecessary. Visually the movie is fantastic and has some fun moments so it is definately worth a look. Just realize that Hollywood nowadays has NO integrity and No ability to dig into the hearts of the people to whom this film matters most.
This movie lines right up with the last 2 X-men movies. Just didnt need to be made. None of the mutants in this film are powerful or interesting. And I really didnt care for the completely lame and incorrect way they showed the adamantium process.
