Another Movie-Goer said it looked like the film maker was on a bad drug trip. I agree whole heartedly. It was extremely confusing and wildly all over the place. There was absolutely no cohesion whatsoever and the plot line was- wait- there WAS no plot line. Was there at least a theme? No. How about characters you could care about? Maybe. Two small children who the writers ATTEMPT to use to create some heart felt meaning at the end. Um, didn't work on me. I want my 2 hours and 28 minutes of my life back. Save your time. If you are THAT bored, wait till it comes out on DVD. Ugh.
Detailed and paced well, Angels and Demons keeps your attention without bogging you down. The 2 hours and 20 minutes flew by- the plot is riveting and the direction is organized and thoughtful. And of course the acting,... outstanding.
Ron Howard does it again. Crafting a detailed account of the key negotiations that lead up to the Frost interviews, Howard extracts amazing character depths from the script and his actors. The audience becomes privy to the inner workings of how Nixon's hubris played perhaps the most important role in revealing his thought process during Watergate. A fitting ending sums it up in one key analysis, and the audience is left feeling as if at least a small sense of justice has been achieved. The actual Frost interviews were politically tantalizing, and Howard's film only adds to that, achieving yet an additional layer of political and cinema satisfaction. Note: Film is very intense and key dialogue heavy; pay close attention.
