Disappointing...

perhaps the remake of Casino Royale (released last year) spoiled me. I expected a lot more from Daniel Craig in the title role as James Bond. I was disappointed when I finally saw this much hyped result.
As usual, Judi Dench was fabulous as "M". I really enjoyed her performance. The new "Bond Girls" were also somewhat of a let-down.
Save your money and wait for the DVD.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Expected more from Bill Mahr.
Asked questions everyone asks themselves but predictably, provided no answers.

This is a superb account of one mans' pursuit of justice against the Ford Motor Company (and others) who infringed on several of his patents and produced intermittent windshield wipers. The rightful inventor was denied the credit for his invention and his share of the proceeds.
While waging his 12 year battle against Ford, which became an obsession, the inventor lost his job as a respected professor of engineering, his spouse and many of his friends.
The acting is excellent and I would be surprised if Kinner wasn't nominated for a Best Actor Oscar.
It's great to see someone get the justice they rightly deserve when going head on against a large corporation.
See it and enjoy!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A GREAT Movie...

I wasn't disappointed after a long wait to see this movie. The Duchess lived up to all the advance publicity and I really enjoyed it. I'm not usually a fan of historical dramas but this one was full of spice, lavish scenery and costumes...real eye candy for the movie goer!
The outcome was of course tragic, as to be expected when one marries for anything but love and finds love later in life.
There are many similarities between the life of the late Diana, the former Princess of Wales and the life of her distant relative, the Duchess of Devonshire so it is an easy comparison for the viewer to make.
Knightly was outstaqnding in the role.
I highly recommend this film. Go and enjoy!

HARD TO BEAT...

I absolutely loved this movie. I saw the trailer and didn't think too much of it but a friend recommended it. I saw it today and I was absolutely blown away by both the plot and the acting.
It's a medical/sci-fi thriller, in the gere of Robin Cook. If you liked "COMA" you're going to LOVE this film!
There's a convicted pedophile priest who's a psychic, reluctantly used by the FBI to lead them to missing persons. Some believe in his powers; most do not.
There is also a former discredited FBI agent and his medical doctor partner, also formerly with the Bureau. The FBI wants him back to solve a missing persons case. She comes with the package.
It's a fast paced drama with lots of action. The plot is fascinating...
Don't miss this sleeper or you're going to be sorry!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Very Smart Movie...

Ben Stein, a genius himself, and a very skilled interviewer, sets out to discover the reason a prominent academic is dismisssed from an prestigous American university for the mention of Intellectual Design.
He discovers the controversy behind the move to challenge Darwinism and in doing so, discovers this professor is not the only one to have suffered career reprisals for challenging Darwinism.
Stein's style is similar to Michael Myers and the picture the fim vividly protrays is that some scientists and academics are afraid to speak out. This movie provides plenty of food for thought.
Stein, in scratching the surface of this topic, increases public awareness of what is being taught, and more importantly , what is being supressed, in our schools.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Very Smart Movie...

for thinking people.
The plot is so slick it seems improbable but it's actually a true account of major bank heist in London. I really enjoyed this film because of the suspense and a couple of ironic twists in the plot. The movie contains some humour as well.
The Bank Job is well worth seeing and both men and women seem to like it equally.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Sound, Romantic Comedy

definitely, maybe is a sound, romantic comedy. The plot is amusing but far-fetched. If reality is your thing you won't like this movie but if you want pure entertainment, it's a winner! No preaching, no moral lessons to be learned, just good, solid entertainment.
Child actor Abigail Breslin is highly accomplished in her role as a precocious child who acts as matchmaker for her single Dad.
This movie leaves viewers with a warm and fuzzy feeling...great for a cold winter day or evening!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Dry Humour...

It's a good movie but not a great movie. It was entertaining, but I had a couple of reservations.
First, the positives...
There are some wonderful one -liners, delivered rapid-fire. There is a lot of irony throughout the movie and several twists in the plot.
The scenery is wonderful and the movie gives the viewer a good view of the town of Bruges, Belgium.
The negative...
The words "F**K" and "S**T" are liberally used throughout the movie so if you are sensitive to this communication style, 'In Bruges' would not be an appropriate choice for you.
Also, be warned that there are a few scenes which are fairly violent.
Otherwise, it's a thought provoking and interesting choice, with the above qualifications.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

GREAT Special FX

Overall, this movie was a pleasant surprise...much better than I had anticipated. The child actors gave great performances with a lot of professional polish.
A lower-key Harry Potter type of movie without all the hype!
If you enjoy animated critters that transform from one animal to another before your eyes and magical spells you're going to love this movie!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
