I have been waiting for this movie for a looong time and to finally see it last night 28 years after the first was a pretty rewarding experience. First off, let's get this out of the way. This is not a great movie. It is however pretty damned entertaining and worth the price of admission.
Jeff Bridges is great as always and he really recaptured his character from 1982 and just looks to be enjoying the coolness of "The Grid" all over again. Garrett Hedlund is good but it is really the visual effects that you are going to see.
IMAX is a great medium and it doesn't disappoint here but, like many 3D movies it is useless here. Tron could have just been a 2D and you wouldn't lose anything at all.
The story is simple, which I respect because it isn't about crazy plot twists it is a Disney movie after all. Just sit back and enjoy some good old fashioned escapism.
The thing that made this movie so entertaining is that the movie knows what it is and it lets a very good cast shine. The cast was great and Betty White is a scene stealer. Sandra Bullock is likebale charming and Ryan Reynolds is fun. You will love this movie.
