Quite a cinema verite for the 50's. Lots of darkness and weak personality portrayal, but true representation of the conflicts of the time when the changed definition of the American family was emerging. Fine consciousness of America going post-war suburban with the new American dream. Good portrayals of characters, and wonderful costuming. Kind of a latter day Jack Lemmon APARTMENT. Perceptive analysis of people chasing dreams they're not sure about how to define.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
