I have never seen the original show. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Loved the look of the show, the colors were awesome. Only reason I did not give it 5 out of 5 is some of the race scenes were done in such a way it was difficult to follow the action sometimes.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
