I had a wonderful time at this movie. The 3-D affects and the intense colors were some of the best ever. The White Queen's character seemed rather weak, and I didn't like the floaty hands thing she kept doing, but the others were charming. The scene of Alice's return and rejection of Hamish right up until she was offered the apprenticeship in her father's former company was terribly predictable. However, so was the appearance of Absalom to accompany her on further adventures as she left for China, yet I loved it for the closing touch.
Somewhat fun to watch, but very predictable. It's been done before. Liked the rugged individual(s) against the system thing, and that they win, but it's sooooo much a repeat of every other movie with that plot!
Very weak for an Oliver Stone effort. Satire wasn't sharp enough, humor wasn't consistent enough. However, if you're not looking for a documentary or a sustained rant against W., it offers some good one-liners. It also gives a new twist to several events we're all familiar with, which added to keeping my interest. It was a more sympathetic portrayal than I expected. And, even though I can't stand the woman, whatever Stone was trying to say about Dr. Rice, it was wrong.
