This movie is deeper than it appears to be, and may take multiple views to understand it. It is open ended in a lot of ways and if you pay attention to more than just the girls and the action, which is fantastic too, it will have you thinking for a while. The film has layers of imagination and is pretty dark underneath it all, for pg13.
Also the Director is commenting on generes and the audience and how we react to women. Also a bit of girl power going on which is good. My wife loved it.
It is not filled with t and a and smut, the girls are strong and sexy, but it fits the context. I wish I could go into detail about the plot, and twists and layers, but I don't want to give it away.
The music is fantastic too and part of the narration and a layer clue.
If you like to be entertained by action, like watching girls kick ass, and like to think and put your own meaning to plot, go see it, or buy it on dvd when it comes out.
Snyder offered a tip...Are the girls 5 aspects of one personality?
This film is part sci-fi, psychological thriller, and moral dilema. The pacing is slow but kept my wife and I intrigued the whole way through. At times It felt like a Lynch (David) meets the Twilight Zone film.
Cameron Diaz played a role I've never seen her do and I thought she pulled it off well, didn't even seem like the same person.
If you liked Donnie Darko and films that make you think and are suspenseful chances are you'll be entertained by this. If you don't like films that are different and are an impatient person chances are you won't like this.
