Great writing and acting

Terrific film. Every character was so well drawn, and Juaquin Phoenix gives a masterful performance. It's a shame he was such a loon on Letterman's show, I hope the word gets out on this without the proper promotion.

Amazing Performances

If you see Revolutionary Road for no other reason, go for the performance. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio showed incredible passion, emotion, and rage unlike anything you are likely to see this year,
Michael Shannon, who plays the emotionally ill son of of Cathy Bates, is the conscience of the film, and his two scenes are both the funniest, and scariest in the entire film. If you haven't seen this guy in "The Bug," then you owe yourself that pleasure. This may not be film of the year, but Kate and Leo should be right up there with best actor awards. A must see!!

Wasted opportunity

Robert DiNero and Al Pacino are the two finest actors from their generation. The idea of pairing them for only the second time is an alluring one. Unfortunately the opportunity was blown with a lousy script, weak story, and exaggerated acting by both of these guys that should have been checked by good direction.
The films a mess- if you want to see these guys together rent Heat. Michael Mann kneww what to do with these guys.
