This movie is highly entertaining because of an excellent cast, gorgeous cinematography, and amazing special effects. The screenplay could have been written by a Bond-loving high schooler. There are just too many glaring holes in the story — it's more of a comic book plot line. But it's definitely worth seeing. It's a visual treat!
Pixar's animation is delightful and endearing. The story carries an inspiring message and although it is a bit simplistic on the surface, it can be interpreted on many levels. The plot development is uneven, with some parts dragging and others glossed over too quickly. Characters are amusing and well developed. I did not see it in 3D - I suspect it would be an even more amazing visual treat in that mode.
Any 12 year old boy with a passable sense of humor could have written a better screenplay. The jokes were only mildly funny the first time, but were repeated perpetually until it felt like being served the same leftovers for a week. The continuous very crude humor involving elderly women was just plain nauseating. There's just not enough here for a full length film. What a waste of time and money.
