The supporting cast is very funny, especially David Cross (Cain) and Oliver Platt (high priest) who are hilarious. The crude references are over the top though, and really not necessary (they must have just made the PG13 rating). Obviously the teenagers will think it's funny. I thought the movie ended badly, but with no strong plot I guess it's difficult to end well. If they come out with a Year Two, I will certainly be there to see it. Overall, very funny movie, just enjoy it for what it is. Will I rent it when it hits video? No. Will I buy it? No. Would I go see it again in the theater? No.
I took my wife and 6 yr old son to see this movie and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The character of Wall-E is very sweet and imaginative. His interaction with the world around him is extremely creative and well done. The storyline is engaging and entertaining, and does have a good underlying message without being obvious or too mature for their target audience. We left the theater hoping for a another installment and looking forward to it's release on DVD. There are so very few movies that are rated G and that are truly made for kids with a few adult things thrown in. Usually it's the opposite. So often people consider an animated movie to be automatically appropriate for children, this one is great for kids and adults. It was heartwarming, endearing, and fun!
