The opening quote and the ending of The Hurt Locker bracket a war movie that is a meditation on the adrenaline rush and the war mentality. I highly recommend this film. The action sequences are tense, and cameos by Guy Pearce and Ralph Fiennes round out a cast of up-and-coming stars. You’ll recognize Jeremy Renner from 28 Weeks Later, but his performance as Sgt. James (connected, yet disconnected from himself) highlights his acting abilities. To see more of him, check out Neo Ned.
If you like this time period (Paris before WW2) then you will like Paris 36. I found the movie to be a delight and it took me to Paris for a couple of hours. Give it a chance. The lead actress does some great singing.
Bond is back and he's not playing around this time. Great movie; Daniel Craig is wonderful as Bond and the Bond Girls kick butt as well. Judi Dench is still great and the locations are fantastic. Run, don't walk to see Bond.
