Funny, thought-provoking, philosophical. Families at their best and their worst. A movie for adults. See it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Better Than Some People Are Saying

"Haywire" features an action heroine who is actually capable of action. Gina Carrano is believable as a woman who can outfight a man. Contrary to what other reviewers have said, it's not difficult to follow. We enjoyed it and look forward to a sequel.
"Haywire" is much better paced and much less boring than "Contraband" where I looked at my watch every two minutes for the first 45 minutes. The only reason I didn't leave "Contraband" is that I needed a ride home. Of the two, we recommend "Haywire".
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Thousands of hours of footage condensed into the tale of one of Forumula One's best. Male, female, sports fan or not, you must see this movie. The theater was jammed on Friday night.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great acting, great scenery, great story. Interesting characters, very suspenseful. I'm glad I've seen the original and so won't have to make do with an Americanized version in a year or two. But too much of the CSI crime scene photo stuff caused it to drag just a bit. (I did look at my watch twice.) It was important to see the photos once, but time and again seemed OTT. Even so, it's a MUST SEE.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Excellent screenplay, acting, directing, costumes, etc. Peter Sarsgaard and Carey Mulligan are charming and believable in the major roles. Risks taken and lessons learned are clear and not sappy except, perhaps, for Jenny's father (Alfred Molina)'s late-in-the-movie attempt to communicate. "An Education" prompted much discussion about relationships, between the leads as well as between Peter Sarsgaard's David and his friends played by Dominic Coopera nd Rosamund Pike, and about England and the US in the early 60s. Being only 4 years younger than memoirist Lynn Barber, I found that the entire movie resonated.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
