Excellent period piece. Shot beautifully, not always the fastest moving, but that worked for me; to feel a part of the period of time. Most cowboy movies are stuck in the black and white of good/bad. In Appaloosa, the characters had depth, mixed emotions and motivations. It's too simple to explain why people do/did what they did to survive. Tis movie may not be for those whom are only interested in lots of shootin,
