Good Story, good effects, can't wait for more

This movie was pretty good, and while the acting was a bit forced at times overall it fit well with what I remember from the series. The effects were quite stellar, and the 3D added a nice touch. The 3D was not eye-popping however but it made it seem like I was actually watching the action take place in front of me during quite a few of the scenes especially during the last battle.
Like others I was disappointed in the ending, but it also left me wanting for more. I do hope that Shyamalan releases the rest of the story as this first one just whetted my appetite to see the rest. As a fan of the cartoon series I was disappointed with some of what happened, but the movie was quite true to the events portrayed previously, and while it wasn't exactly what I remember it was certainly better than other live-action ports.
One thing fans should remember is that telling a story in 30 minute segments over the life of a series allows for a more in-depth telling, when telling the same story in 2 hours some things must be left out. Overall I think Shyamalan did this one well.
I definitely recommend this one for people who want a feel good story for the summer. It is certainly a departure from the normal summer movie fare.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

ONe of the best movies of the summer

I went into GI Joe expecting it to be quite bad, but what I got was a great summer action flick with a little bit of comedy and romance thrown in too. The film reminded much of the cartoon series, but was far enough removed to make the film stand on its own,
Some of the CGI effects and acting were less than ideal but not enough to spoil the effect intended. Overall this would be a good movie for kids age 10 and up, and adults who don't adhere to one specific image of what a 'named' cartoon movie should be.
I definitely recommend this film for anyone who wants an action film without the adult story lines that so many seem to have these days. Good fun for all at this movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie is action packed. Every minute is filled with something going on. And this movie has one of the best chase scenes I've ever seen. There are some moments that are a little hokey such as the one where the landlady lets someone place all the 'boxes' into the room, and a couple of others. With the state of surveillance in this country this movie has some interesting points to make and a lesson that maybe spying on people can go too far. For lots of action and a good story I definitely recommend this movie.

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. The soundtrack is awesome as only Danny Elfman can do, but the visuals were just superb in my opinion. The story is a bit slow to get started but once it picked up steam there was no stopping it so be prepared for a wild ride. A definite must see for the family.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A little more Ironman

Overall the movie was quite good, however I was disappointed with the generic 'friend/mentor of the hero goes crazy' plot. I know other bad guys exist out there. Other than that I would have liked to see a few more Ironman battle scenes. I've always liked Ironman in the comics and this movie captures the essence very well. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark was great, he captured the spoiled millionaire loner mentality the character exhibits with ease. With the advent of better CGI, movies of this nature are becoming much more detailed and realistic. Ironman scores a big win in that regard. I definitely recommend going to see Ironman if you want some escapist fun. Take your kids too.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
