I had very low expectations, based on the reviews I'd read, so I was pleasantly surprised. The plot holes are largely a product of the Terminator mythology and cannot be entirely eradicated. Christian Bale's character displays a very narrow range of emotions, but that seems realistic for someone who is being hunted. Sam Worthington's role is probably bigger than Bale's, and Worthington does a good job.
I went with a group of 10 men, including one straight guy, plus one straight woman. Everyone in the group, including the straight guy, enjoyed the film very much. Probably my favorite part was the clothes. Even Miranda looked fantastic, and Carrie's clothes were out of this world. The story was mostly about coloring (movietickets.com won't let me use the real word, so I'm using the word they use in front of children in the movie), marriage, and long-term relationships. I would have liked to see more about work and money, but I suspect there will be a sequel. I really hope we get to see these women as they pass through the remaining stages of life.
