Sorry James, It takes more than FXs Impress Me

The only good thing about this movie is the FXs / 3D. Other than that, the story is completely unoriginal theatrical propaganda. The plot is a typical anti-capitalist retread (i.e., money hungry corporation stops at nothing to make a bigger profit including destroying the environment and the otherwise peaceful natives). The characters are stereotypical as well (e.g., the heartless trigger happy military commander who can't wait to wage war). At one point this movie actually declares shock and awe bad and martyrdom good (a reference to the Iraq war that should have every Iraq Vet boycotting this film). For a cheaper thrill I recommend watching Dances with Wolves surrounded by a blacklight and some neon posters. That's all this movie is.

Watchmen is an amazing film. It is action packed, with amazing camera work, special effects, and a kickin' soundtrack. The story is a suspenseful who done it mystery set in an alternate future with a cast of intriguing and complicated character/super heroes. The movie is also intellectually stimulating as it explores how super heroes can go wrong and also looks at both the best and the worst of the political left and right alike. This movie is NOT for all people. It has a lot of violence, adult language, and some sexual content that is not appropriate for children. Also, some people may not like thought provoking stories mixed in with their super hero movies, otherwise I would rate this movie a ten.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
