Here's a movie that is hobbled by its length and by insufficient editing. Adam Sandler is superb and nuanced; Seth Rogen balanced and maturing---but both of their performances are sabotaged by a long, draggy and self-indulgent script that was never given the benefit of rigorous editing. As entertaining as Eric Bana's character is (for a minute or two), the entire subplot featuring him and Lesley Mann became unendurably drawn out. Multiple cameos ultimately give nothing to the movie except the certainty that Judd Apatow has an an impressive Roladex.
