"Harold and Kumar go to White Castle" is one of my favorite comedy films of all-time. This movie is funny, but fails in comparison to its predecessor. It was fun to catch up with these characters and I believe a third installement might be in the works, but this was average at best. If you're a fan, you should see it in theatres. The best thing I can say is that I would recommend renting this on DVD. It's a fun 102 minutes.
This movie was funny, but the plot wasn't that great. In the previews, this seemed like a great idea, but it wasn't delivered on the screen. I love Adam Sandler, and I especially love the writers of this film, including Judd Apatow (co-writer of "The 40 Year Old Virgin"). Worth renting, but that's about as far as I can go.
There isn't a wasted minute in this film. The story was good, but more importantly, it was really funny. It reminded me of the old "Looney Tunes" cartoons because it showed such a great understanding of physical comedy and humor through dialogue. This movie was probably just the right length at about 90 minutes long, as not a moment of the plot dragged. And I have to mention that Jack Black (and the rest of this star studded voice cast) did a great job. If you miss it in the theatres, you had better see this on DVD.
I was ready to be disappointed, but this film was great. The plot was flawless, the acting was unbelievable (especially by Robert Downey Jr.), and the direction by Jon Favreau was a testament to his talent. The CGI was dead on in this film. Everything looked great, and felt real. Can't wait for the sequel.
This is a very likeable movie, especially compared to Ang Lee's 2003 outing "Hulk." The action scenes are terrific, the CGI is used properly and looks good. Norton is fantastic as Bruce Banner. Should be a really good franchise for Marvel Studios, as the movie sets-up plenty of good stories for the sequels.
This film had a great plot, a great cast, and terrific writing. You can't miss with this film. On par with other Judd Apatow productions like "The 40 Year Old Virgin," "Knocked Up," and "Superbad." Comedy gold. If you miss it in theatres, you must BUY it on DVD. It's that good.
Mike Myers return to live-action is best summed up as a disappointment. This movie was funny (at times), but the story and the motivation of the characters was sub-par. There was a good 8-10 minutes that could have been cut because of their lack of signifigance in terms of story and in quality of humor. This is a real shame for a movie that boasts an 88 minute run-time. At best, you may want to rent this on DVD. The highlight of the film was a pretty good comedic performance by Justin Timberlake.
