It's good but...

I was an extremely solid and good movie and Heath Ledger was amazing. I really enjoyed the first 2 hours of the movie. The last 30-40 minutes was senseless. I walked away wondering why it didn't end earlier. The last part I understand was to set up the next movie but they could have done that in about five minutes instead of 40. There is a hostage scene toward the end where there are a bunch of people in a building, what was that about? Where did they come from? What purpose did they serve? I just did not get that whole part of the movie.
I truly enjoyed most of the movie but that last part left me wondering why take such a solid movie and foul it up. Maybe it was the editing and there was a couple of scenes which were cut that would have tied it together better. It is worth seeing but as most movies, is not perfect.
