Potential that was not tapped....

Being a huge fan of both lead actors, I was disappointed. The venue is perfect, but the substance was lacking.
Angelina is at her best with witty dialogue where she can "match" wits like in Mr. and Mrs. Smith or an action film like...Salt. Likewise with Johnny, you wait the whole movie for the pace to pick up and the main characters to...cut loose.
To try and make him "joe average" is to handcuff his talent as an eccentric genius who becomes...his role.
Watch the "Italian Job", Salt and for a taste of what this movie could...should have been given the venue? Shoot the script writer(s) and challenge the viewer with a more daring plot. Dumbing down the story was...wrong move.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Original was a tough act to follow...good try

Being a sequel to a iconic picture is really tough to pull off. I saw the original 25 years ago. Wall Street then was "larger than life" and the movie was...a smash hit. WSMNS, is good IF you saw the original film and can appreciate the nuances of the flawed characters and the challenge of updating the story line to the current financial times. I throughly enjoyed it, and I am a complete fan of Michael Douglas' work. The typical "attention deficit" movie goer might struggle through, especially if he/she didn't see the original to appreciate the cameo's from original cast members or the importance of the final song playing when the credits rolled. I will see it a 2nd time.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Non-stop action thriller...

Angelina is at her best in this one in a superb action thriller. Clearly Salt is influenced by the Jason Bourne trilogy, but that's not a bad thing. Amazing stunt work, interesting sub-plots and...Angelina doing her thing as a kick...female spy. Looking forward to the next installment of this new spy franchise.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Just a very good movie....

Public Enemies was very good because the cast is well chosen. Johnny Depp makes John Dillinger "human" while at the same time a ruthless criminal. The paradox is a good one. Christian Bale is also excellent as the G-man who ultimately catches Dillinger.
I would also cite the sets and costumes ('30's era clothing, cars, etc.) as a key element of the movie. Thoughtful, at times chillingly violent and all together well done.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Wanted...a better story line....

Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman are the basis for a strong cast. I am a huge fan of both. That said I rate "Wanted.." as a 10 for special effects and action, but only 6 for the story line, dialouge and continuity. Disappointed in the story development because the premise of the movie ends up leaving you wondering if the writers ran out of stunts or ideas to finish off the story. See it for the stunts and special effects, but be warned that the story line pushes the bounds of believability too far.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
