The humor in the movie was subtle, cerebral. I would go see it again. You had to closely follow the dialogue to get the jokes in the movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I enjoyed the movie, the plot was a good twist to get to 'present' day Star Trek (TV series).
I especially like the the Bones and Scotty characters has they stayed pretty much to the original characters.
I've seen it twice now.
