I'm a huge Alice fan and have seen all the versions. I guess I was looking for that nostalgia, to come back to me, but this doesn't do that. As for the movie itself, presented in 3d, it is beautiful to look at, and that's why I didn't give it a 2. The effects were ok, but not as much 3-d elements as I would have liked. The girl playing Alice also leaves much to be desired, I was not happy and thought her performance was not where it should have been, I guess that was done to leave Depp as the "star" the problem was, in this movie he did not "shine." For this being a "Disney" film, I just want to say if you are looking for that whole family/Disney/feel food quality, you won't find it here, and definitely not for little kids, maybe 8 and up.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
