Haven't laughed aloud at a movie so much in a long time. Not quite My Cousin Vinny (which would be my 5 for comedies), but close. Streep is fabulous! Was a little skeptical Steve Martin could pull it off, but he did. Not great filmmaking or storyline, but fabulous entertainment and escapism. Definitely seeing it again. Note: this movie is most definitely written from the women's perspective.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Excellent acting and wonderful cinematography in place, but not worth all the hype. There were a few laughs, not tons, and parts of the movie were enjoyable and really well done. But overall, it did not grab me, and either because it was slow or because it was so much about work, I found myself thinking of my to-do list in the middle of the movie. If you like movies for the movie-making, this is excellent. If you like movies for entertainment and escapism, wait till this is on DVD.
