My wife and I have an arrangement. No... Not THAT kind of arrangement....
She will tolerate one (1) summer blockbuster action film, for two (2) thought provoking, or foreign, or chick flicks in return. It is a reasonable arrangement as I also enjoy good film making.
We both enjoyed Star Trek so much, I got a free pass without additional chick flick penalty. Woohoo!
It's a really good movie with simple, clean plot lines, good effects, lots of action... but (except for the big bug) generally in support of the plot.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
