If you're a fan of thick layered plots, thought provoking dialogue, a film with a message of conscience or thoughts of how to save the wold from its own demise from conservationist or environmentalist perspectives...this movie isn't for you! But if you want to roar with laughter until your belly hurts, to sit there and applause throughout the film and to thoroughly let loose for a couple of non-cerebral hours the HEAT is for you. Damn...HEAT is a laugh riot. No Academy Award here...but who cares! As the Beach Boys would sing...it's FUN, FUN, FUN!
Now you see me lives up to the hype and could very well be an Oscar contender. A suspenseful story...great effects...a stellar cast ...and plot twists and turns. Now you see me will keep you at the edge of your seat. Two thumbs up!
The Internship won't win an Academy Award, but the movie is funny, well acted and does tell a story about middle aged people having to reinvent themselves in a younger-person's world. Vaughn and Wilson play off each other and the supporting cast fit their roles in fine fashion. Just a good time...good entertainment.
42...worth seeing. The story was so well crafted that you felt like you were sitting in the locker rooms...the club houses...the buses...the ballparks of that time. The film certainly reinforced what Jackie must have felt and the hardships he faced. It was also startling how much the film Jackie looked like the real Jackie. Harrison Ford was superb and should be nominated for an Academy Award. The "what happened to them" segment just before the closing credits were shown drew applause from the audience. Definitely a feel good movie. You'll enjoy it.
Flight...definately worth seeing...kinda like Chester Sullenberger and a Denzel extravaganza. Also appreciated John Goodman who, as he will in Argo, should be nominated for a Best Supporting Actor award. Makes you think about breathalizer tests for pilots BEFORE each takeoff! Loved it.
Don't Back Down is a "MUST SEE" for every teacher, for every parent and for anyone concerned with the future of education in our country. The movie is not afraid to clearly state what's wrong with our educational system. It's not afraid to clearly depict the small minority of teachers who suffer from classroom burnout or who just don't give a damn and is one of the most uplifting movies to come out in a while. The acting is crisp. The story is well written and is about as real as gets. As a high school teacher, I applaud the movie and its attempts to focus attention to the most important aspect of our society...preparing our young people for life.
Clint Eastwood is NOT an actor in Trouble With The Curve. He is a REAL baseball scout...authentic, believeable, genuine, gruff and natural. His supporting cast was perfect, the script was crisp and it was an enjoyable evening at the theater. This isn't ceberal enough for the stuffy, liberal leaning, save-the-world and world peace Oscar board. This is simply a great movie with a great star. Thanks, Mr. Eastwood!
Have never seen a TP movie before. I'm glad we saw this one! Funny from the opening to the close. Great cast...notable faces. Oh...stay until the credits finish because the out-takes are even fiunnier than the movie itself!
With a cast like Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Alan Alda, Matthew Broderick, Tea Leon and Casey Affleck this was a pure night of entertainment. A fun movie. My only disappointment...no OUT TAKES after the credits. I'm sure there were hours of pure laughter left on the cutting room floor. I would have paid extra to see 'em.
