Ok, rather than reviewing this movie... which is silly because it isn't out yet.. I'm replying to the other review. David Yates also directed the last one, and the movie hasn't been released so I doubt you've seen this movie. Are you sure you didn't mean to review Order of the Phoenix instead??
Being a huge fan of the books, I, of course, went to the midnight premier. It was an awesome experience being surrounded by tons of die-hard fans..... uuuntil the movie started. The giggling and screaming and swooning was a MAJOR distraction from the movie. It seemed like every time Edward walked or talked or looked brooding... the "gremlins" around me would start yapping.... taking away from some pretty amazing scenes. It left a lot of people feeling let down by the movie because it made scenes that were intense and dramatic seem comical and mockish.
I had really high hopes for this movie and was really let down. It has such a good concept and it certainly has it's moments but sometimes I wonder if they really thought things through... One moment Mr. Neville is sane and rational, completely understanding of his situation and the next he's talking to manequins that he thinks are real, and then the very next minute he's back to being sane and rational and completely aware that he's alone. At least in Cast Away you saw the decline of Tom Hanks' character's sanity and once he got to the point of talking to inanimate objects, he stayed there. Not to mention, okay.... Mr. Neville found the cure, and now he just has to lower their body tempurature to make it work.... but... what's the point? Their core body temperature was running at what? 120 degrees? Their brains are fried so what's the point of curing them? It' will make them human again, yes, but they will be braindead. Although I will say that the deserted New York City looked amazing.
What an amazing move!! The whole look and feel of the movie is just phenominal. I love that it's a musical, comedy, drama and horror all in one! I especially loved "A Little Priest", it was even better than the original. The murder scenes were intense but over-the-top enough to not make you sick to your stomach. A cute musical about killing people and feeding them to people as meat pies!!!
