This movie was very entertaining. Nice way to introduce the character of Robin Hood. Depending how old your kids may be, they may find some of the scenes a little violent. Overall, decent movie.
First, the movie is watchable, because of the CGI and action scenes. At best, the plot is average. Now for what's really on my mind. Okay Hollywood, we have yet another movie that doesn't stay true to the region. I know that this is based on the video game, but I am a realist, and I have to call it like I see it. This reminds me of watching one of my fathers old westerns when the native Americans were played by white actors with painted faces. As talented as they are, you have Gyllenhaal (Swedish/Jewish decent) and Arterton (English decent) playing the lead roles. America is a nation with a lot of diversity. It's sad that Hollywood does not have the diversity it should. I don't understand why you couldn't find actors directly from the middle east or with middle eastern decent. You have again white actors portraying characters from the middle east. What's next, white actors in black face (as in the early days), or portraying Asians and Africans. Maybe I should write Tyler Perry, John Woo, Spike Lee, and The Hughes Brothers and suggest they should start having Black, Asian, and Middle Eastern actors portray white characters. For those of you reading this, as funny as that may sound, what really is the difference? Think about it.
Everyone please DO NOT BELIEVE the critics who say that this movie is not worth watching. These are the same critics who get paid to tell you a bad movie is good. Don't believe their hype. This is story telling at its best. The Hughes Brothers did an excellent job directing. As always, Denzel Washington delivered. Mila Kunis did her job, and I see" A List" star potential for her in the near future. The ending will blow your mind away. The is a must see.
